Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of jsharonslp.com and the services provided by Jessica Sharon SLP, a sole proprietorship operated by Jessica Sharon, M.S., CCC-SLP ("Jessica Sharon SLP," "we," "us," "our").

By using this website, submitting the contact form, booking a session, or purchasing a plan, you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a client under 18, you confirm you are that client's parent or legal guardian and that you accept these terms on their behalf.

1. What we offer

Jessica Sharon SLP provides virtual speech-language services focused on social communication and executive functioning for clients approximately ages 13 to 25, delivered by a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Services are offered as:

  • a free discovery call — a short introductory conversation at no cost and with no obligation

  • an intake session — a one-time comprehensive session to understand your goals and build a plan

  • monthly plans — recurring packages of sessions at a set number per month

Current services, session lengths, and fees are listed on our Services and Plans pages and form part of these terms.

2. What these services are, and what they are not

Services are provided by a licensed speech-language pathologist within her scope of practice. Depending on the client and the goals, the work may constitute speech-language therapy, or it may be better described as skills coaching.

These services are not:

  • psychotherapy, counseling, or psychiatric treatment

  • medical care, diagnosis of a medical or psychiatric condition, or prescription of medication

  • a substitute for treatment by a physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, or licensed mental health professional

  • crisis, emergency, or on-call services

We will tell you clearly if we believe your needs fall outside what we can appropriately provide, and we will help you find the right kind of support.

In an emergency, do not use this website or wait for a session. Call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

3. Who we can work with

Clients must be at least 13 years old.

Clients under 18. A parent or legal guardian must provide consent before services begin, is the contracting party under these terms, and is responsible for all fees. We will agree with you and your child at the outset how session content is shared with you. Anything that raises a safety concern is always shared.

Adult clients. Clients 18 and over contract with us directly. We will not discuss your care with a parent, partner, or anyone else without your written authorization.

4. Licensure and where you can be located

Speech-language pathology is a licensed profession, and licensure follows the client's physical location at the time of the session — not ours.

Jessica Sharon is licensed to practice speech-language pathology in New York, New Jersey and Florida, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

We can only provide services to clients who are physically located in a state where she holds a current license. You agree to tell us if you move or if you will be somewhere else during a scheduled session. If you are outside a licensed state at session time, we will need to reschedule.

5. Sessions and how they are delivered

All sessions are conducted by video. You are responsible for having a reliable internet connection, a working camera and microphone, and a reasonably private space.

If technical problems on our side cut a session short, we will make up the time at no charge. If problems on your side prevent a session from happening, our cancellation policy in section 7 applies.

6. Fees, plans, and automatic renewal

Fees. Current fees are shown on the Plans page. We may change fees, but never during a plan month you have already paid for. Existing clients receive at least 30 days' notice before a fee change takes effect.

Payment. Payment is due in advance. The intake session is paid at booking. Monthly plans are billed on the day you start and on the same day each month thereafter.

Automatic renewal — read this part. Monthly plans renew automatically each month and continue to bill until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the month you have already paid for using the website. We will acknowledge your cancellation in writing within two business days.

Unused sessions. Sessions included in a monthly plan are for use within that month and do not roll over, except where we were unable to offer you a session you were entitled to — in which case it carries into the following month.

7. Cancelling, rescheduling, and missed sessions

Life happens, and we would rather move a session than have you push through a bad day. What we ask is notice.

  • More than 24 hours' notice: reschedule at no charge.

  • Less than 24 hours' notice: we will try to find another time that week. If we cannot, the session counts as used.

  • No-show (no contact within 15 minutes of the start time): the session counts as used.

  • Illness, family emergency, or genuinely unavoidable conflict: tell us and we will waive the above. We are not looking to penalize anyone; the policy exists so that reserved time is respected.

If we need to cancel, we will offer you the earliest alternative time and the session is never counted as used.

8. Refunds

  • The discovery call is free.

  • The intake session is refundable in full if you cancel more than 24 hours before it, and is not refundable once it has taken place.

  • Monthly plans are not refundable for the current month once that month has begun. Cancelling stops all future charges. If we cancel your plan or become unable to provide services, we refund the unused portion of the current month on a pro-rata basis.

If something has gone wrong, tell us before requesting a chargeback. We would much rather fix it directly.

9. Confidentiality and records

How we handle your information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: what you share is confidential, it is not disclosed without your written authorization, and the narrow legal exceptions — mandated reporting, imminent risk of harm, and valid court orders — are described there in full.

You may request a copy of your records at any time.

10. Your responsibilities

To get value from this work, and for us to provide it safely, we ask that you:

  • give accurate information about the client's history, needs, and any other providers involved

  • tell us about relevant changes — a new diagnosis, a medication change, a school plan, a crisis

  • attend sessions on time and reasonably prepared

  • treat sessions as confidential and not record them without our written permission

11. This website

The content on jsharonslp.com — text, images, logo, and materials — belongs to Jessica Sharon SLP and may not be copied or reused commercially without permission. You are welcome to share links to it.

Content on this site is general information about our services. It is not clinical advice and does not create a professional relationship. That relationship begins when we agree to work together and you have completed intake.

We aim to keep the site accurate and available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Speech-language services depend on many factors, including participation, consistency, and circumstances outside our control. We do not guarantee any particular outcome or result.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms or our services is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for professional negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and where a change materially affects existing clients we will give at least 30 days' notice by email. Continuing to use our services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect and the unenforceable provision is applied to the greatest extent the law allows.
